Looking for some advice on jamstix workflow. I want to come up with something new & cool and to save this idea.

I'm a little confused on how best to do this using I believe what should be a combination of free jam & manual jam. How arranger works in this threesome is not completely clear.

Take verse, bridge, chorus. I need 3 rhthyms that keep the same feel but are different to emphasise the parts. I find I always end up scrubbing something I like when I try to tweak the free jam.

I know what free, manual, arranger does individually but how best to use them together to create & hold rhthyms is not clear to me.

Pls advise.

Once the free jam has produced something you like, switch to "manual Jam' to avoid having it messed up. Now fine-tune manually in the rhythm tab and arranger to finalize the track.

Thanks for that.

1 point - I was quite happy with the verse rhythm created by free jam, I wanted to tweak it manually so moved to manual jam, tweaked it and then moved back to free jam to work on a bridge but found that the arranger was wiped and was back to a clean pallet losing all my tweaked verse part!

So it seems that I can't interchange between free & manual or should I save the arrangement in manual jam once happy?

You're right, you cannot go back from manual to free jam.

And I must correct myself: in version 1.6 even locked bars are reset when switching from manual to free jam.

Ok. Then I think this could be something you consider as adding to the functionality - the ability to build parts by switching back and forth between manual & free jam. Normally working on a song arrangement is a question of tweaking continuously throughout the project until you are happy with all tracks - drums, guitar, vox etc. and there could well be a specific drum part that needs a complete free jam rewrite without losing all the hard work done previously.

What do you think?

I am a new user/buyer, first time on the forum, I appreciate the support and I just want to say that Jamstix is a great solution for me.

Yes, we are working on an enhanced arranger for Jamstix 2 that allows you to switch between manual and free jam at will and keep specified parts of the song.

We will also see if we can change things in the next Jamstix 1 update so locked bars are kept when switching from manual to free jam.
