hi Ralph,
was curious what the gain setting of the extra outputs are in comparison to the 4 jamstix outputs... am kinda assuming it is the same as default?
thanks
jeff
p.s. i had an idea about having locks for the different panels (i.e. kick, snare, hihat, toms...) for during a keyword or free jam - that way if i start to hear for example a snare pattern i like, i can lock it and let jamstix do its thing with the rest for a while! |

p.p.s. this would really be awesome in jamstix 2 as well... i'm just imagining being able to lock a 2-bar snare pattern... |

The gain is the same as the one selected on output #1.
Concerning the locks idea: it gets messy fast due to rhythm changes and many other side effects but we have an idea along those lines: the ability to easily send part of a rhythm (i.e. snare settings) from one rhythm to another in the arranger. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

ta for the gain info!
re the locks: was thinking about it tonight from a musical perspective (as opposed to a pc operator perspective!) and kinda realised that might be the case, especially with more complex and funky stuff... also realised that if i wanted to i could easily just save the rhythm with the specific pattern i like and create variations on it...
As far as the arranger is concerned, when trying to "arrange" i keep wanting to think horizontally, but when i want to change a rhythm for a particular bar, i have to start thinking vertically as well! For someone with a narrow brainpan such as myself, it tends to put me back into my uncreative "pc" mode too quickly! Was thinking the ability to copy and paste chunks horizontally and have the right rhythms fall into place would shortcut this process? I admit having little experience with the arranger (mostly due to time constraints) so there could already be a similar option available without me knowing it. Don't really want to cut and paste the midi output as i think this would cause problems where the "seams" are!
p.s. thanks for the continued great support (and constant betas!), am looking forward to jambassist (i think it's still called that) and jamstix 2...[/quote] |
