I need to uninstall Jamstix totally from the computer. Does anyone know how???
Nuendo is hanging on load for any session that has JS and is not using the internal sounds. This has happened several times before but I am not able to fix it this time after several hours. I have tried different driver builds etc with no luck. I've also removed the JS folder from VST plugs folder which puts nuendo in an endless loop wanting to find the JS files. The jamstix.ini file looks like it was modified today but not by me. Nuendo just hangs the cpu at 50% and the session stops loading.
I am on deadlines and must open and mix these sessions immediately!
any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance! |

Add this line to the [General] section of your jamstix.ini:
LateWSLoad=1
Let me know if this doesn't help. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

If the above option doesn't help, use this one:
NoHostDataLoad=1 _________________ Ralph Zeuner

WOW and thanks Ralph. That was quick!
"NoHostDataLoad=1" works fine and the first session opened fine so I assume the others do as well. Would it be advantageous to add "NoHostDataLoad=1" as well?
Any ideas what happened to cause this?
Thanks again for the super quick reply because of the deadlines. I don't really use JS much because of the material I work with but when it works it's a great thing... |

LateWSLoad=1 is the one to use.
NoHostDataLoad=1 will cause Jamstix to come up empty so you only want to use that as a last resort if you cannot open a project any other way.
The cause of this is unknown. It has happened to a few users with Cubase and Nuendo and large project sizes. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph,
Back again. I just found the answer to my first question of why JS is not remembering the kit I assigned... LateWSLoad=1 & NoHostDataLoad=1
2nd question... Jamstix is not responding to midi... meaning it is not getting communication from the midi track in the host. Any ideas? Channel settings are set properly in Nuendo. It's a JS thing...
Another thing I noticed, is that since I couldn't get the proper kit to load, I set up a "user preset" folder in the directory where the default JS kit's reside. JS does not see the folder...
Thanks,
Chuck

Yes, do not use NoHostDataLoad or you won't see your saved data.

Does the little yellow LED in the right-bottom corner of JS light up when the MIDI is triggered?

JS 1.6 and up will only use mappings that are in the 'mappings' folder, not subfolders thereof. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Yes. Something about JS is not responding to midi. I've played with things in the .ini file but no luck yet... any ideas? Outputting the track to any other vsti yields results but nothing from JS. I've double checked mappings and any midi settings like "transpose" just to be sure...
Thanks,
Chuck |

Areyou trying to manually trigger the JS sounds via MIDI? If so, make sure you are in 'Manual Jam' with 'Play Input' checked in the jam tab. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
