Got mine, too!

The new Epak sounds and specific rhythms are very cool.

Very nice mix´n´match rhythm possibilities here (I mean an underlying edrum rhythm mixed with more prominent "rock" or funk rhythm) which gives Jamstix a totally new, much more modern approach.

It´s a great add-on!

I´m off playing again... Cool

Well, though I've bought all other add-on packs, this may be the 1st add-on that I do not plan to buy as these sounds are not my cup of tea... Wink

But I'm looking foward to any 'future' add-on packs with real drums Very Happy

Keep up the great work Ralph Cool

Congrats to the new baby !
While I'm in the same boat as ZapAxe and don't really need it, I think it's a good and logical development for Rayzoon.
Hope it turns a lot of new users on to JS !
Cheers, Rhino

Absolutely fantastic release! Great sounds, great grooves and the new kits are totally inspiring -- definitely going to help me get out of future creative ruts!

I love how the accents add continual variations to the groove, which definitely adds a whole new dimension to programming analog drum tracks. What a timesaver!

Rayzoon, you once again are da man. Thanks!

hi ralph,
great idea! looking forward to picking this up...thanks!

one question: is eMode only available while using the ePak? can i enable it to be used on a loaded VSTi?

so that if i load microTonic or some other electronic drum VSTi, it will use eMode logic in that case?

is that possible?

eMode is always available if you have the ePak installed so you can use it in any way.

I just downloaded ePak last night. Eight hours later I was still trying to pull myself away from it. This was on a weeknight. Jamstix just keeps becoming more amazing. For 19 bucks my favorite program is now twice as good.

Thank you so much for this software. 808 sounds mixed with acoustic drums. My favorite. How did you know? Smile

I've just installed my copy of the ePak. Like some of the people here, I wasn't 100% sure I needed electronic sounds and rhythms (I have Battery 2.1) but the ePak blew me away. BTW - I find I'm using Battery less and less for my main rhythms as now with the Snarepak I feel Jamstix is as good as anything I have, in fact better due to the intelligent sample swapping and close stereo recordings - much easier than my old way of using a different pad for left and right hands. Sometimes I'll use MIDI out to trigger certain 'must have' samples (hats and kick usually) but retain the drumming from Jamstix.
The electronic sounds and new rhythms have an indefinable 'feel'. as if they were played on an electronic kit by a person, rather than a typical drum machine feel. Perhaps this is down to the clever use of accents and fills but guys, don't pass on this one just because you only want acoustic sounds. Using MIDI or rendering to audio, you can use the Jamstix engine to create wonderful percussion tracks to go with your regular trap kit. Or you can swap, say the kick drum from an acoustic kit for an ePak sound to give more punch. I've found the kick sounds in the regular set and the Jampacks to be a little 'too' acoustic for my use, using several of the ePak kicks gives the kit a very modern, produced pop sound whilst retaining the wonderful feel of the engine. I could go on - but there's enough gushing on this forum already.
I've also found that the Jamstix 'paradigm' has finally clicked. I now use manual mode to audition beats! Previously I found it a little frustrating as the arranger would change my selections all the time, this was obviously my lack of understanding. I still find the interface a little obtuse but I'm afraid I'm not clever enough to think of any suggestions!
Now, a couple of things that for me would make this software not only indispensible but perfect would be a way to adjust pushing and pulling the beat. I know there are the 'pocket' controls but they do not allow for early snare for example. I currently get around this by increasing 'pocket' on the kick and hats, rendering and then moving the entire audio file back so the kick falls exactly on the downbeat. I'd like to be able to do this within the programme. Also, I'd love it if there were some sort of graph (as per Guru has for 1-2 bars) where the amount of push or pull could change throughout a nominal time, e.g. 8 bars, or 16 bars. Perhaps an extra line on the arranger with a graph for, most importantly for me, the snare? I realise this is extra complexity - perhaps it could be an 'expert' feature only. Some sort of 'groove' control would possibly do this just as well, with templates etc.
On this topic, I was wondering if the Jamstix engine does pushes and pulls automatically under the hood? I've not investigated at the micro level as things sound pretty good the way they are but it would be nice if there was some indication if this was happening, how much and when.

Push/pull will be in Jamstix 2 and likely offer additional functions such as groove templates.

No, Jamstix by itself does not use push/pull. What is available is manual pushing via the pocket controls and the overall 'timing variance' slider.

My God, that is absolutely fantastic! BTW, do you get any sleep at all? What with Jam Bassist, new versions, new Paks etc AND your incredible responses on this forum and tech support requests I suspect you must have cracked human cloning as well - either that or you have manged to round up minions who work for nothing, do not sleep themselves and follow your every command...
I have a warm and fuzzy feeling all over - Jamstix 2 will be the ultimate, including EVERYTHING I personally could wish for, or could imagine. I really hope that this is paying off for you financially - this is actually a selfish wish as I want Jamstix and siblings to continue for the rest of my music producing life. I've been asking a certain company about an issue I've had for about three months and received nothing but automated replies so this level of support seems incredible. On the other hand, when the whole world has finally been taken over by Rayzoon it won't be easy to keep up the support Smile
regards,

John

PS the demos of Jam Bassist do the business as well. I understand some of the complexity you have to deal with but I can't help but be impatient.

Much appreciate the kind words, John!

Rayzoon will be grown slowly and carefully and we will not sacrifice support and direct contact with our user base at any time.
