I am trying out Jamstix Demo and having some problems.

I have successfully set it up as a VSTi in Bidule.

I can hear the internal sounds when in "Manual Jam" and allowing MIDI input to be heard. All the notes from my keyboard get through and the internal samples are clean.

What I can't do is get a rythym to play.

The instructions aren't real clear regarding using Manual mode.

I have tried using "Jam with MIDI" and "Jam with audio".

I am picking random rythyms and loading them into the arranger, clicking the "PLAY" button and NOTHING!

Any help getting past this impasse would be appreciated!!!

Jamstix needs a clock to synch to. You should pick a sync transport from misc and sync Jamstix with it. Activating the sync transport in Bidule will then cause Jamstix to play.

The 'Play' button in Jamstix does not produce a clock. It merely lets Jamstix 'listen' to the VST clock.

Hope this helps!

OK

I added a "Sync to MIDI Clock" bidule to the mix. Stilll no progress.

If someone has a basic Bidule screenshot I can work from, much appreciated.

I'm sure this is real simple, but I am definiitely MIDI clock challenged and the only host I have, other than Bidule, is ProTools.

THANKS AGAIN!!!

hello tom,

i am at work, but i try it out of my mind. at home i work only with bidule and have jamstix working. you need just one special bidule. its name is "sync transport" or so dont know the name exactly, because it is in my default project in bidule, so i havent take it every time Smile. but i think sync tranport is rigt. in this bidule you can set the tempo, start stop, pause button are tehre to. in jamstix you have to set the "sync to" option to "sync transport". doubleclick jamstix at your bidule-desktop and this option ist at the head of the window. its not an JS option, it is a bidule option.
hope that helps.
one thing mor. in JS in the arrange tab you have a transport control from JS. when you press "stop" at "sync transport" from bidule the song position pointer jumps to 0:00. in JS the song position pointer only stops and doesnt jump back. (it was so n JS 1.5, havent tried 1.6).
If you have more question, ask again, in the evening when i at home i can help you better, because there is JS and bidule installed.

max

Thanks, MADMAX!

I'll give that a try.

If nothing else, it's turning out to be a great lesson in MIDI clock sync and VSTi engineering. Laughing

VOILA!

The sync transport bidule did the trick.

Now, on to BFD integration!

Thanks again MAX
