Hi Ralph,
I wondered if you might add this functionality to the Accent/Fill/Intro/Ending pop-ups? Make the pop-up a bit wider, and add the following columns:
1. "Starts on the" (instead of having it be a help-type display down below.)
2. "Ok to use" Checking this checkbox would allow Jamstix to use this part in the song arrangement. If not checked, Jamstix wouldn't even try to use it.
3. "Favorites": Checkbox. Could we identify favorite 'parts' as references for future songs?
4. "Comments": user-editable comments which might start with comments from Rayzoon and we could extend them, ie, a user might add "Used as a fill in Widget song." Double clicking the box would pop-up a bigger display area for all the text.

All the columns would be sortable.

Also, in the latest Beta along with with n-track 4.0.5 build 1851 the Preview function is not working. I would imagine you click on the note and you should hear a preview?

PS: Could you confirm? Once either Jamstix determines one of these parts for you, or you select it yourself for a given bar, then that selection stays locked until you re-select, with no further action on your part?

Paul

Jamstix 2 will implement most of what you are describing.

After you click on the note, click on a fill to hear the preview. The note is an on/off button.

Once a fill is selected it will stay unless certain conditions change, i.e. funkiness changes so the current fill doesn't fit the filter anymore.
