Ralph
I have three questions for you.
QUESTION ONE
In my mappings folder I have three files:
Jumpy.imv
wide higher.imv
wide. imv
I presume these are velocity maps?
How can I load these into jamstix? do I need to? what can they do for me?
QUESTION TWO
In the mappings I also have some BFD mappings... I know how to load these... and I understand the 'close mic' and the 'BFD ALL' setting but these ones:
BFD set 1
BFD set 2
BFD set 3
BFD set 4
BFD medium power
What are these and what do they do? How can I utilize them when I'm out-putting to BFD?
QUESTION THREE
I notice now that there is a black bar under the snare box in the Rythym page and it has accents in it... these are played back 'randomly' in relation to the 'variance' slider, right?
Some of the snare fills sound so good with DP#2 how do I get these to play EVERY time in a pattern...s ay I want to write a pattern that has one of these sanre fills on the 4th beat and name and save that rythym pattern to use in a particular part of a song?
These are the type of thing I was enquiring about 4 weeks or so back good little snare rolls to make an accent or to 'announce' that the song is going into a chorus or something...
I notice it says 'automatic selection' at the top od teh window that opens with all the accents in it...Can I 'manually' place these cool accents?
That's enough for you for now...

Right-click on the input velocity map and choose load to select any of these files. They will shape the velocity curve to alter the way Jamstix responds to input velocity during a jam. This is important for fine-tuning jam sessions where you need Jamstix to play in your 'sweet spot' dynamically and need a non-linear relationship of your velocity to Jamstix velocity.

They load various BFD Stereo kits. You use them the same as the BFD All mapping. Use MO-Only or let it load BFD into JS.

Can't save them into a pattern but you can manually go from bar to bar and select the same snare accent in the black box for each bar.

Yes you can. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK
So those IVM are for 'free-jamming?
I don't use Jamstix in that way.... maybe one day... but really I want to harness it's power as an arranger.
Thanks for your replies!
