Anyone know which Jamstix drummer would play most closely to Martin Ditcham, who played some of Sade's percussion? (example: https://youtu.be/kcPc18SG6uA?si=ka1X-ydi7Nu0sq-7&t=189).
I love that type of percussion (and Sade's percussion / drums in general, I'm looking for that type of sound / vibe).
Anyone have any tips on how to best use Jamstix (or any other program in general) to recreate Sade's percussion sound / setup? |

Hi Q_A,
Sorry for the slow response, I missed this post. The best way to approach this in my opinion would be to hand program the 2 bar pattern by hand then Save it as a style. The pattern stays virtually the same throughout the entire song except for the break in the middle. As far as I can tell the entire percussion track is only Kick drum, Snare sidestick, single then double Snare hit and a Shaker. If you need help or have any questions about how to do this feel free to ask. |
