Just clicking away and suddenly things blank out:

I can't remember which of the blanked-out settings I was playing with. JS still plays and the remaining elements still move but the screen is similar for other patterns in the song. Restarting Cubase fixes the problem.

Any idea what the cause might be?

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

I've had that happen before intermittently and never have determined the cause. When it has occurred, I just closed the project and reopened it and dealt with it that way. Bit of a hassle but as infrequently as it has occurred to me it's tolerable.

Reverting does the job too. I wonder if it's another manifestation of Windows 11 apparent instabilities.

Anyway, cheers
Duncan

I'm still running Win 10 so it's not an 11 issue.

Yeah, I've been having some odd problems with Cubase (13 and 14) with interface elements not recognising mouse clicks.
I can get around everything so far, as there have been multiple ways to do the same thing (swapping a drum, for example - I can only do it via the 3D interface).

But rather than just raise these issues I also want to say, I've been getting incredible results with Jamstix lately. I've had it since the very early days, but work and life and a change of career into motion graphics meant I never really had the opportunity to use it in actual songs.
But I'm back in audio and music, and boy. This is the best VST drum plugin for anyone who needs to get a unique drum track and treat it like a real drummer. I had option fatigue at one stage, but for my current project I'm only using mostly one style, the 2 bar breakbeat. And that gets me exactly the type of drums I've not been able to get without a real drummer. I use different Jamstix drummers and a few select, tweaked kits but the 2 bar breakbeat gives me 2 bars where I can define exactly where the kicks will come in a way that makes sense to me (after a bit of head scratching at first) but let the engine do everything else, in a guided way.
This plugin needs to be more known. It's so much better than just using loops, even the flexible types of loop in things liike EZ drums or Addictive (I've used both).

I had been looking forward to JamBass, back in the antediluvian period, but I find Modo Bass 2 does the trick. And with the grooves coming from Jamstix, I'm playing a lot of the bass myself, even as a guide where I would have originally used a VSTi as a guide.

Anyway, I hope Ralph knows there are people who love his work and hope he continues for as long as possible!

Amen to that! It took me a long time to get my brain around the brain but JS brings even the simplest of beats to life, and even comes up with what turn out to be key creative elements that you'd never have thought of in a million years, let alone been able to program.

But more importantly, it's the drummer you actually can get to shut up! Very Happy Wink
