Hello everyone.

I'm using Jamstix with Addictive Drums 2, and I have setup the MIDI output mapping correctly.

It seems like bounced snare hits are not working. Is this correct?

I have made sure double strokes are working as described here: http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6495. I have also experimented with the Hit Style Attenuation setting. Still, no bounced snare hits.

Can something be done, I wonder?

Cheers.

Welcome to the forum. I don't have AD2 but looking around online for its midi map I can't see where it has a Snare "bounced" sample like Jamstix to trigger.

Thank you Smile

You're right, a bounced sample doesn't seem to be there. There is a "Shallow hit" sample which currently is mapped to the Snare Offset articulation.

A dedicated bounce sample is perhaps not very common? Which drum library has them?

Perhaps it is possible to mix AD2 with Jamstix' own bounced snare? I'm trying to set that up in the Kit menu but it doesn't seem to work during playback...

Ok, I can use the JS bounced snare sample if I specify the sound in the bar editor directly. That is: it is not enough to mark a snare hit as 'bounced'. Apparently one has to manually change the sound. Is that right?

I have Superior Drummer 2 and it has it but I'm not sure about any other VSTi libraries.

Clicking in the Bar Editor will create a hit the same as the last one you entered. By default it would be Snare center but then if you change one to bounced, the next ones you manually enter will be bounced also until you choose a different articulation.

Hello:

Now that I am investigating more how to use AD with JS, I landed on same question, unable to hear bounced snares, as I think AD hasn’t them. I think what sly_85 is meaning here is that in the bar editor one can press on “single”, “double” and “bounced”, but, to actually hear the bounced sound one must additionally change the sound of the snare to bounced hit.

The above is under the intention of using the bounced snare sound in JS together with other sounds of AD.

I will take a look later how does the bounced snare info in midi look, to see if in AD some similar sound can be achieved.
