Happy new year folks! I've been playing around with Jamstix a lot of the holidays, it's still the best !
I'm not sure anyone's around anymore ! But anyway i'll ask:

I've been trying to add drums to some softer, lighter acoustic things.

When the song is composed and I put the MIDI into my DAW, I notice that the velocity levels are very high, at the maximum of 127 or close to that. There is some slight variation, but it's all still at maximum or almost maximum.

I've tried playing with the 'power' options in the brain to get lower level drums so there is more lightness and variation....but I'm not sure if that's the thing I need to play around with.

I see there is velocity curve editing in the mixer, although that's per piece of every kit so I'd rather find a quicker general option.

I there anything I can do to get lighter velocities, more variation, rather than everything being full-on ?

Of course the workaround is to edit the MIDI in the DAW, but maybe I've missed another option?

Hi,

There's still some people here, just not as regularly as they used to be.

If you're looking to decrease the overall velocity of the drum track, the Min/Max dynamic sliders and Song Power knob at the top left of the GUI would be the first thing I reached for, not any Brain controls. You also have the individual Power setting for Song Parts in the Song Sheet PWR window to vary individual song parts. HTH
