| Hi, in the latest Jamstix beta it seems that drag and drop midi to reaper does not work. the work around is to record its output. Anyone else experience this? any way to get it to work? |

Hi,
I just tried it and it is working properly for me. Ctrl+Click song title and Ctrl+Alt_Click song part dragging are functioning properly with Reaper. |

I am unfortunately having this issue as well. Occasionally it does work, but most of the time dragging produces no file. Current beta of jamstix and reaper 7.07
recording the midi out does seem to be the easiest workaround but boy i wish i could figure out the conditions that lead to a successful drag n drop. |

Hi,
What exactly is happening when D&D doesn't work?
EDIT: I stand corrected. I just discovered that drag and drop only works properly if Song Part time sig is 4/4. Otherwise "gaps" are left in the output. Fortunately you can record Jamstix' midi in Reaper with the play rate maxed out so the workaround for this is pretty quick. |

The mouse cursor turns into the arrow and plus sign when dragged over the reaper timeline, but there is no rectangle of expected midi underneath it. When the mouse button is released, nothing happens. Happens with full song as well as song parts, etc.
I have gotten it to work a few times though, ha ha, that's the part that made me post. If it wasn't working 100% of the time i'd just get over it (and, you know, i still might!)
Thanks! |

| Midi Drag&Drop has always been iffy for me in my host Waveform. Sometimes it works, sometimes not and sometimes it crashes the host to desktop. I reported years ago but I'm not expecting it fixed anytime soon unless Ray resurrects Jamstix from dead product status. |

Yes I've been looking at this more deeply and drag and drop is definitely erratic and not right. It's not just the time signature that is the issue and the results are definitely not consistent and it has crashed to Desktop twice while I was experimenting.
I would recommend that since you're using Reaper, just record Jamstix midi with the Play Rate maxed out to save time. That has worked reliably while I was checking this out. D&D for other than Song Structure is not something that I've used often so I guess that's why I never noticed this before. |

Dedicated Process / Server Mode has so far produced some positive results
I'll report back if it fails |

Wow, I hadn't thought of cranking up the play rate before, this is a good tip!
Thanks! |

You're welcome, I hope it's a helpful workaround for you.
EDIT: After playing around further with the idea of maxing out the Play Rate and recording the Jamstix midi, this causes issues also, so disregard this suggestion. Sorry about that. |
