|
|
Been a few years since I've been on here but have still been using Jamstix 3.
I've just had to setup a new PC and got everything working except I cannot get Jamstix to load into Reaper either 32 bit or 64 bit.
Uninstalled and re-installed JS and Reaper several times.
Triple checked paths to VSTS including making separate folders and placing JS dll in there and still no joy.
JS install goes as normal every time but not matter what I've tried e.g clearing caches etc I cannot get Reaper to see the Jamstix3.dll in the VST/FX list in Reaper so cannot get it to load into tracks that already have it or add it again to get them to run with Jamstix.
Tried disabling firewall land anti-virus and no joy either.
Any help or pointers as I've spent several hours now trying to get it working. I even re-downloaded my version of JS |

Hi Paul,
In Reaper under Options>Preferences>Plugins>VST when you click the Re-scan button, does Jamstix show up under the list of plugins that failed to scan? Also check your reaper-vstplugins64.ini file and look for any entries for Jamstix, delete them and try to rescan. That's all I can think of off the top of my head, hope it helps. |

When I clear the cache and rescan JS dll shows as the list runs but then does not show in Reaper's FX browser so cannot be added to a track.
I have tried removing the the JS entry in the vstplugins64.ini several times and a rescan etc and it's made no difference. The JS dll is the only VST is doing this |

I've had a thought back to when this may have happened before with JS.
The JS installer installs a version of the C+++ redistributable but perhaps I need another or different one installed for Win10 64 ?
If so which version ? |

Solved !!!!!!!!
I tried C+++ 32 bit and 64 Bit 2010 but no joy. Then on whim and even though I'm running a 64 bit version of Reaper I decided to try running it in Win7 compatibility mode. Low and behold after another cache clear and rescan of the VSTs in Reaper all came good
So for search engines etc to run a program in Windows in Compatibility mode/s.
1:Right click on shortcut to the program.
2:Properties
3:Open File Location.
4: Right click on .exe file (In this case Reaper.exe)
5: Properties
6:Compatibility and tick the Run This program in compatibility mode for: and choose an OS to try and in this case Win7.
7 : Don't forget to click the Apply button!
Thanks for the prompt reply Azimuth BTW |
