Firstly, this app is freaking amazing. Best music making value I've ever spent money on. I've been using it since December with Cakewalk and have built about 6 songs drum tracks with it.
OS: Windows 10
DAW: CAkewalk 2021.12
In a nutshell, here's my question (caution, it may be a really, really simple answer but I've tried to resolve it myself for a few hours and read through a lot of forum posts and the manual): Once I output midi to my 8 tracks after I create the song and then arm the tracks then "record" them, seeing the midi data populate with the notes and velocity, how do I get Jamstix ONLY to play the midi data and not play the song that's loaded inside it?
The reason this is important is I recorded the midi data, then realized later I needed to slide it over to the right in Cakewalk to make room for a silent intro with an acoustic guitar. Jamstix starts playing right at the first measure, though, AND again when it encounters the midi data.
My workaround is simply to delete the midi data, go back into jamstix and add some "silent" bars to the beginning of the song, then re-record. In fact, this is probably the recommended way to do it.
But is there a way to throw midi data on a track (not importing it to jamstix) and just have jamstix play it?
I apologize if this is a real simple one.
Thank you. |

| Hello, please look in the manual under “MIDi playback mode”, page 23. This way you can use Jamstix the way you would use any other VSTi for drums, without brain. |

I knew it...I'm an idiot. Many thanks for the response! Actually, yeah, it's just a matter of clicking that "midi playback" button on the main screen. Wow. Not sure how I missed it. Thanks again. |

| Well, best part of it is that is seems you are making music with enthusiasm. With six songs in a month, I guess in a couple of weeks or months we will be the ones who will be asking you. |
