Hi. Forgive what may be an obvious question but how do you get the Bar Editor to display 3/4 time? The tempo indicator is showing 3/4, I've got Jazz Waltz style selected but the Bar Editor seems to be showing 4/4 to my eyes. What have I missed?
Thanks, Duncan

| The Bar Editor appears to be showing 3 groups of 4 beats in the picture which is correct. Am I missing something? |

Three groups (beats) of 4 quarter beats, actually, but it's only looping one bar so I'm misreading my own project! Oops...
However, it doesn't exactly sound right, which I think was confusing me. The snares are wrong, surely. One late and one early...

Hi Duncan_Clee,
I am new to Jamsitx and I am trying to run the Jazz Walz.
When I build the Chorus, I get a 4/4 time signature, not 3/4 as on your screen shot. I wonder why. Can you please tell me if you had to change any setting in the software to get 3/4?
Thanks,
Darius |

Hi Darius,
Welcome to the forum. In the Song Sheet, double click the Song Part and a separate window will open where you can set the time signature along with several other settings. |

Hi Azimuth,
thanks for welcoming me!
When I double click the Song Part, I get the exact same window as the one that Duncan shows at the top of this post, except that the time signature is 4/4, and it is greyed - I cannot change it.
Does the time signature has something to do with settings in the VST host? |

| Under Options>General Options is "Allow Time Sig Changes" enabled? I thought that was enabled by default but maybe not. |

Yes, "Allow Time Sig Changes" was enabled by default. Guess who changed the setting...
Thanks Azimuth |

| You're welcome. One other thing to remember regarding time sigs is if your Song Parts are linked, the time sig (and everything else) is the same between the parent and child parts. If you change it in the parent part (the only one you can change) it will also change in the child parts. |

Thanks Azimuth.
I am still trying to get the Jazz Waltz running smoothly in 3/4, but I am not there yet.
Here is my sequence:
- in the BUILD area I click on Reset
- I click on DRUM STYLE and load Jazz & Swing / Jazz Waltz
- the DUMMER is default (James Stix)
- the DRUM KIT is default (Rock - Default - Natural)
- no Jamcussion
- I create a song structure with INTRO (I), VERSE (V) and CHORUS (C)
- I click on Create Song
If I double click on any of the Song Parts, I see that the time signature is 4/4.
I can modify the signautre to 3/4 manually in each Part, but the rythm does not sound right at all.
Am I missing something? |

| You have to have a corresponding time sig change in your DAW also. Have you done that? |

I get the point Azimuth.
My current host is Bidule and I drive the MIDI clock from a Step Sequencer within Bidule.
Jamstix is synchronised to this Step Sequencer. I do not know yet how I can influence the time signature. It is time for investigation. |

[SOLVED]
I can change the time signature (3/4, 4/4...) in the settings of the Bidule device called "MIDI clock to sync". Its purpose is to transform the MIDI Timing Clock (coming in my case from Mobius looper) into Bidule“s internal sync information. Jammstix is slaved to this internal sync information.
In other words:
a) MIDI device that sends a clock signal ---BIDULE MIDI CABLE---> Bidule device [MIDI clock to sync]
b) the Jamstix container is synced to [MIDI clock to sync] (no cable between both)
Let us now make some music!
