These are some frequently asked support questions and their answers:

WINDOWS: I HAVE INSTALLED JAMSTIX AND THERE IS NO SOUND
Make sure you have downloaded the stock kit (and any other Paks you purchased), unzipped them and installed them via 'Install Pak' in the 'Kit' window.

WINDOWS: WHEN TRYING TO INSTALL PAKS, I GET AN 'ACCESS DENIED' MESSAGE
Using Windows Explorer, set the permissions on the Jamstix3 folder to read/write Everyone.

IF I CLICK ON A KIT PIECE WITH MY DAW STOPPED, I DON'T HEAR THE SOUND
Disable 'Close Audio When Inactive' in your DAW.

WHEN I USE A DRUMMER OTHER THAN 'CHARLIE', I GET NO SNARE OR KICKS
Turn up the song power knob above the song sheet.

I AM USING A MULTI OUTPUT KIT BUT ALL THE SOUND IS ROUTED TO OUTPUT #1
Uncheck 'Downmix' in the Jamstix mixer.

ALL I HEAR IS THE KICK
Set up your host to properly support all audio outputs of Jamstix

MY TIME SIGNATURE CHANGES DON’T SEEM TO WORK RIGHT
‘Allow Time Sig Changes’ in the OPTIONS must be checked.

AND

For every time sig change in your host, there must be a part change in JS at the exact same time.

AND

Each part in JS must have its proper time sig set in the part length edit box.

WINDOWS: I HAVE CRACKLES AND DROP-OUTS WHEN “Load-on-Demand” (LoD) IS ENABLED
Increase audio latency in the host.

WINDOWS: AUDIO CRACKLING IN STUDIO ONE WHEN USING OTHER PLUGINS
Activate ALL outputs from Jamstix in S1 or check ‘Downmix’ in the mixer.

WHAT DOES THE MIGRATION TOOL DO?
If you have Jamstix 2 kits or expansion Paks installed, you may not want to take up double space for the samples by installing them again in Jamstix 3. By clicking on the migration tool link, all styles, drummers and kits will be copied over so you can use the Paks in JS3 but the samples will continue to come from the JS2 folder. If you are not concerned about drive space or don’t have Jamstix 2 installed then disregard the migration tool and just install any Paks you have normally in JS3 ...

Hi - is there anyway to take advantage of this migration tool AFTER having installed JS3? When I installed JS3 I didn't use the tool, and I'm running out of space, now.

Thanks (p.s. - if it is possible, as close to a "step-by-step" set of directions would be greatly appreciated! Very Happy )

'JS2 Migration Tool' can be used anytime but all it does is transfer style and drummer data from JS2 to JS3. It does not move sound data.

If you are running out of space, you can move the 'data' folder of your JS3 install to a new location.

Thanks for that, Ralph.

How do I then "point" JS3 to that new location?

When you launch it, it will ask for the new location.

Could you add JS3 requirements to the FAQ?

I can't seem to locate that easily on the website. It would be nice to quickly reference the requirements. I haven't used this in about ten years.
