Hi - first post here, so please go easy on me if this is a common issue with a documented resolution (I have searched but to no avail):

So, I have an Arturia Minilab II connected to Reaper (v7) - Reaper recognises the keyboard and shows that it is receiving midi data when I press keys/pads etc. I have the minilab sending data on CH 1.

In an open midi track assigned to Jamstix, Reaper indicates that key presses on the Minlab is triggering the corresponding key on the midi track, however Jamstix does not play any sound, nor does it indicate that any midi data is being received. Jamstix indicates that the kit is receiving messages on CH 1.

If I press a virtual key or draw a note in the midi track with my mouse, then Jamstix does play a sound, i.e., in Reaper, C2 will play C3, kick drum, in Jamstix (love the one-octave mapping difference just to screw things around).

I can record midi data onto a track (without Jamstix playing any sound) and the recorded track does playback in Jamstix as expected.

I have followed the rather scant details in this quick start guide https://www.rayzoon.com/quickstart_guide.html, and I have set Jamstix to MIDI PLAYBACK. I have played with the midi mapping presets, however no luck there either (currently sweet at the default input mapping of Jamstix).

What do I need to do to get Jamstix to recognise midi input from my external midi device?

tl;dr Jamstix is not responding to external midi data and the documentation does not give a clear explanation as to how to resolve the issue.

I have been using Jamstix since 2009, and this is just plain stupid as to why it will not receive external midi data.

Resolved - I needed to turn on the monitoring for the channel.
