|

I'm using JS4 and I'd like to make a part that is only cymbals, so I'd like to exclude the kick, snare and toms from fills and accents.
Also, I noticed that the ride cymbal is lighting up the meters on channels 5 and 8 in the mixer, even though all ride articulations are set for output 5. When I solo channels 5 and 8 separately, the ride can be heard on both. Any ideas would be appreciated. |

All kit pieces will appear in the Ambience channel (8 in your case) since that is your "room" sound if the kit you are using is not dry.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish in the first part of your question? |

| Thanks. I was wondering if it's possible to have the fills and accents just be made up of cymbals with no kick, snare or toms. |

The only way I can think of to do that would be to change the sound for all individual LH & RH hits in the Groove, Accent and Fill windows for the song part. Left click the 1st and last cells to select all LH & RH hits, right click>Change Sound>Choose from the menu.
Then select all RF & LF hits and delete them, then lock the bars afterward. |

Also, you could temporarily mute all the kit pieces that you don't want.
So, Jamstix will compose stuff that you don't need, but you won't hear it.
Then, when you're done, delete all the rows that you don't need,
and un-mute the kit pieces that you temporarily silenced. |
