Are there any approaches for "programming" rubato drum sections, usually corresponding to varying tempo sections. Something like the intro of this song.

The tempo is going to be controlled by your DAW, so Jamstix will simply follow the tempo changes commanded.

The first section of the example you provided (which was very cool by the way) could be done with Cymbal washes in Jamstix. Hi-lite the Bar Editor cells in the LH & RH rows with Ctrl+L Click, then right click and choose "Add Cymbal Wash". It will default to a crash cymbal but you can right click and use "Change Sound" to change it to any cymbal you'd like. You could even alternate between various cymbals this way. You can also use the Bar Editor Power control to control the "swell" of the washes.

The second part of the intro is accented hits on the Hi Hat. It would probably be easiest to just hand edit a single bar with the accents how you would like them placed and then copy and paste that bar as many times as needed.

Thanks! After posting this question I started working with the bar editor for the first time and came up with a similar approach. A very flexible tool.

Is there any place where people share bars, patterns, custom styles, etc? Im just scratching the surface with this plugin and culd see advantages in sharing "components".

Not that I'm aware of. I know there were a few times this was discussed in the Forum but it never caught fire.
