I´m not sure, but maybe someone could be interested in some accents I´m doing my own, like a simple crash (random A or B) in the beginning of a bar, a Kick eight in the 4th beat (made it cause eights don´t have probability sliders and I like to use them only once in a while), some other accents I´m editing to have a crash in the next bar. Since you can manually set accents in JS, I begun to create and edit accents and fills so I can use JS only to create my drum tracks (mostly because the fantastic limb-priority feature).

I´m still learning how to edit, but I got the basics. So if someone is interested, I could post them somewhere.

Would be very interested in adding some more accents in JS. I agree a crash on first beat of bar and eighth after 4th v.useful indeed. Not got into developing any myself yet but am about to embark on it. Would like to create more fast snare drill type fills - the sort that suit late 70s New Wave i.e Blondie etc.
At the moment I'm using a blend of sequenced parts and JS - seems to be the best solution when you can't find the accent/ fill you want

I´m trying to use JS only as I said, some more will come, I´ll try to create fills from songs I like, but this will be a lot of work, so I´ll be doing this very slowly. But if you have some particular interest, let me know. Although not being a drummer at all, listening JS to play is sort of drums lessons

ITMT i have made my first fill and I must say I'm pretty pleased with myself
I searched through s few midi songs on the net and downloaded the ones with well programmed drum parts. Check out My Sharona by the Knack Or Fire - Jimi Hendrix . They both have some lovely fast snare and tom fills. A thought occured to me whilst reading the accent and fill primer.
It would be possible to say make a copy of your accent folder and then replace with one you made earlier but only containing fills that you had made based on say Mitch Mitchell. This could seriously cut down JS throwing in inappropriate fills
Maybe there could be an accent and fill exchange based around Great Drummers. If enough users took up this idea it could be very handy indeed

Hope you wern't offended by my suggestion that JS could behave at all inappropriately.
I have had a couple of days of frustration because I needed some kind of continuity in the fills to really stitch my song together. It was then that I hit upon the idea of lifting them from a particular player or even a song so I would know that there would be a good chance that they would work well together.
The way I want to use JS is to have it so I can keep everything in the arranger window and not print to midi and mute bars etc
I really do believe that JS is the most significant drum based software to surface in a decade. Like a lot of other songwriters I have been in the rut of fiddling with drum samples and cataloging etc etc etc but not really getting down to writing and recording. I used to record tons of songs with a Tascam Porta 2 and an HR16 but I just got bogged down in technology. So much about JS takes care of the fiddly stuff and frees you to create. I believe its definitly worth persuing with this one.


Do you know of any Wav to midi software that can extract Rhythmic parts - I tried Intelliscore demo but just got garbage (Not the Band) out of it.

Anyway here's a link to my first home made fill lifted from My Sharona by the knack. It works best at a fast tempo like the original song (152bpm)

I don't know any good WavToMIDI software either.

I wasn't offended at all, I know exacly what you are talking about and I hope we can make custom fills easier with Jamstix 2.

Hi Ralph,
just a quick idea ...
one possibility would probably be to make the accents/fills/etc. folders selectable with a checkbox "include child folders".
That way you could easily categorize things by making a folder structure in Exploder, not unlike the VST folder, and everybody who's interested can have his own categories.
