| I'm doing a country song with 16th swing, and it sounds great except for the fills, which are straight. It's as though the swing grid is being left straight while the groove (and maybe accent?) grids are adjusted per my shuffle % slider and 16th checkbox in the swing page. How do I get my fills to sound right when the rest of the song is 16th swing? |

| What style and drummer are you using in your song? Have you tried varying the Style/Drummer slider, unchecking "No Groove" in the Fill Bars or varying the "Shuffle" control on the Fill page to see if it makes a difference? |

I was using Country Rock style and Mark drummer. I switched to Jamstix Classic style and James Stix drummer with no apparent change. I also tried unchecking No Groove and turning the shuffle knob (under Structure) to 100%. Notably, the groove and accent pages are behaving properly, I'm able to put in a line of sixteenth note bass hits and they are shuffled properly. Only in the fill page is it not acting right.
The song below is what I'm trying to cover. I'm doing it as tempo 87, 4/4, with full 16th shuffle. I could double the tempo and use 8th shuffle, but then I'd have to do half-time. Seems that 16th shuffle is exactly what this song wants.

Hi dba_virt,
Didn't get to it today, sorry. Project at work suddenly became more "problematic" than expected and it'll probably a few days at least until I can check it out. |

I was able to work around it, somewhat, by setting host sync to double (nice to have that option!), doubling my bar counts, changing to half-time, and switching from 16th swing to 8th swing. It does cause other problems: previews still play at normal time, and I have to recompose fills to find something that doesn't sound unnatural. But that's much better than the non-swung 16th's in fills. I could also have doubled my time in the host to get past some of those issues, easier to do up front than retrofitting.
This will get me by for now, but I'm definitely interested in converting back to 16th swing as soon as it works. |

It sounds as if Brain Menu -> Fill Settings -> No 16th Shuffling is turned on. Turn it off and see if your issue is gone. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Yes, that was exactly the problem. I just need to remember to turn it off for each part. Thank you, I didn't know that setting existed! |
