Hey you all together. I am really enjoying the new version and mini paks.
Got really into Jamstix again for the last few weeks.
This makes me want to get along with an old idea I had some years ago.
I wanted to make kind of a cover version of an old BB King song which is called "so excited" from his 1969 album "completely well".
This tune has an awesome drum beat that really intrigues me everytime I hear it.
Here is the link to a youtube video of the studio version.

I really love how the drummer keeps up the pulse in the verse parts with a sparser version of the main groove.
Listen to the change that happens at 0.22 when the first intro part is over and leads to the first verse (with the sparser beat).
Some guys at Reaper forum helped me out for the main beat.
What I still would love to know how to recreate the both drum parts of this song.

May this be possible with Jamstix?

Every input would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's a quick start for this groove.

Part A is the easy part. Just load 'Jamstix Classic' and match the brain settings with this:

For the verse part, load 'Jamstix Classic', select the '2Bar' preset and match the brain settings with this:

Of course, you need to load a drummer of your choice to make it come to life.

Hope this helps!

Hi Ralph,
the screenshots are perfect for learning, really helpful, thank you!

I hear slightly different snare groove for part from 0:22:

Btw, I was curious why matrix changes of Kick 2 and Snare 2 didn't have any effect to the final groove. At first I thought that I must use a kit with 2 kick and 2 snare drums, but even with Rock-Everything-Natural nothing changed.
Then I found the "Preview" button plays only first bar so for listening whole 2bar pattern I had to push "Play" in my DAW instead of "Preview".
