Instruction look clear, and Rototoms.dll along with .msa folder are installed and Reaper appears to see them. But no sound on any Toms when these are loaded. Any clues on how to get these to work?

8 Royotoms Mapping
We have included a MIDI mapping for the excellent freeware Rototom VSTi “Royotoms”. You can use a combination of DarkSide drum kits with Royotom replacements for the toms as
follows:
- Load the desired drum kit
- Click the MIDI output dialog (far right in the kit toolbar)
- Under ‘Other’, select ‘Royotoms’ and check all items except ‘Remove Unmapped Pieces’

Please email me your REAPER project so I can see what the issue is.

Email with zipped Reaper project just sent to support. Thanks. I sure I am doing something wrong - it was all going so easy up to the point of not hearing any sounds on the toms. Thanks for the help.

I've checked your project and you need to do two things to make it work:

1) In Jamstix, click KIT and then output mapping label 'Jamstix' at the far right of the kit toolbar. Click 'Other', then click 'RoyoToms 8' and check all boxes below it, except 'Remove Unmapped Pieces', then click 'Load'.

2) In REAPER, click 'Route' on the RoyoToms track, then 'Add New Receive' and select the Jamstix track.

OK, I had done Step 1, that was very clear in the instruction. As soon as I do that Toms go silent.

Step 2 is what I missed. Let me give it a go now.

OK, that was simple. I guess that is track routing 101, but it still confuses me at times. I have it now. Thanks for your help. No way we all can use this stuff with out the help we get from these support forums.

With that in mind I uploaded the reaper project file as a zipped folder with the two VST's [Jamstix 4 and Royotom] on separate tracks with the mapping and routing. If this helps others let us know.

Sorry Ralph, I still seem to have a problem. I heard it right away but thought best to sleep on it and listen again in morning.

All mapping seems to be fully functional , but... the sound is not right. In the Royotoms app the toms have a huge wonderful lush wet reverb sound- just as intended. But the mapped toms are thin and dry when played by JS4. I am not hearing that lush sound when JS plays those toms. Any idea.

I sent the files but I may now see what is going on.

When I click on the toms in the Royotoms window I hear the correct sounds. If I use the Kit window in JS4 to click on each tom I hear a dry sound and it apparently is not using the mapped sound from Roytoms. No mapping.

But when I actual play the tracks from my DAW the mapping appears to be functional and I am hearing the correct sounds. So the mapping only occurs when I am "playing" the track in the DAW.

Sorry for the bother, things seem to be sorted out now.

Love the new Dark Sky Kit and Nick....
