Hello,
I really want one workflow, and I really like jamstix - I have used it well in the past, but I find when composing quickly, for some reason I find the loops in SSD5 more realistic. Let me put some examples here:

here was my approach
Drummer was James Stix for the whole thing
I loaded custom rock and built a song, looped one part.
Recorded the midi output
Rendered it.
Next I loaded a slate loop, a disco one - with a fill.
Sounds better. I notice the velocity is high tho - so I export the midi and render the loop.
I then turn the first jamstix loop higher velocity - sounds better but the fill is weaker.
I do the same thing with a disco style in Jamstix.
What are the differences to you? What can be done to improve or what can I change in my workflow?
The hihat seems particularly weak in the jamstix examples, along with the fills.
Used the blackbird kit from SSD4. |
