Ralph, I have a song that is what I would call a Country Ballad. So I picked that style in JS4 along with John as the drummer (looking for the groove) then I tried James Stix, but I get the same results.

The song is slow. 40bpm. What the Country Ballad style does is give me three hi-hat hits (accent on the first) in between the beats, spaced evenly apart. IOW, 1 ta ta 2 ta ta 3 ta ta 4 ta ta. And the fills and accents follow this pattern. This is exactly what I was looking for!! Great so far.

I am getting trouble when creating parts. When I create the intro, pre-verse, chorus I am getting a different timing than the Country Ballad. What I am getting now is the hi-hat doing this beat

1tata 2tata 3tata 4tata . There is a pause in between the last hi-hat hit and the next beat(along with the accents and fills).

The hi-hat beats are no longer evenly spaced between the beats, and neither are the accents or fills, which makes the parts that I create using the Song/Create Part/Intro, Verse, ect. unusable. They just don't fit.

Any idea what's happening?

No idea what is causing the problem, just here to confirm it. Might be a good idea to email tech support with the Manager app also.

Could you do a 'Save Song' in JS4 and send me the file?

I believe the problem is the swing setting in that the new parts you create do not inherit it. Please check the swing page in the song sheet and set all parts to 8th and full swing. Let me know if that does not fix it.

Yes Ralph, that did fix the problem. Thanks very much. Didn't even think of checking the swing setting.

Thank you too AZ for confirming.
