I can't seem to get the tambourine to trigger - it does the claps instead.

It's mapped right for me here with defaults but if you have a special/different mapping in SSD5, you can change the assignment as follows:

- Jamstix KIT view
- click on tambourine in 3D kit
- in kit editor at the bottom change MIDI key to match your SSD5 kit

Technically, no. But for the tambourine you can do the following if you have Jamcussion:

- click PERC in the tool bar to access Jamcussion mode
- click KIT
- if anything is loaded, right-click into the background and choose 'Remove All'
- right-click->Add To Kit->Perc 1->MIDI OUTPUT ONLY
- click on the conga shown in 3D view and then set the 'Main' articulation to G6 (SSD5 tamb) and the 'Alternate' to F6 (SSD tamb up).

- click 'Groove' and use the Jamcussion style 'Modern' -> 'Light & Funky'
- set 'Bongos' to 0%
- set 'Shaker' power to 100%

You now have Jamcussion playing shaker (change style under 'Shaker' as desired) and lower velocity hits are played via the hand up sound.
