...stick.
haah, so anyway, I wanted a beat specifically made a certain way, with only one kick, nothing following it.
I erase the second kick, it comes back. I turn off recomposing options, etc etc
is there a damned simple way to edit a bar and have it replicate to the rest of the song?!?!!? |

I would do this:
- song menu->Reset Song
- load 'Jamstix Classic' style
- make sure only the downbeat box is checked under 'Kick', no boxes checked for 'Snare', set 'Hihat' to 0% power _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I'm new to Jamstix, and I know what you mean. Quick thing:
Jamstix always seems to edit whatever part your on, so as the DAW is playing through a song,
which part that's being edited is constantly changing! (At least this seems to be the case). To edit
a part, I think it's best to stop play in the DAW, and use the "Preview" button (which means "play this part").
Then edit however you like. Once you get the part how you want it, HIT THE LOCK BUTTON. (all caps for emphasis).
Then play it through in your DAW to see if you like in in conext.
Expect to be using that Lock button a lot! It prevents the brain from adding stuff when you don't want that,
and from overriding your edits. |

@Sir_Plus: a better course of action IMO if you are still modifying a song part but are already pretty happy with what you have and don't want to have it get out of control on you is to use the Bar Dropdown menu>Edit>Lock All Events in each window (Groove/Accent/Fill) that you want untouched. Then tweaking the Brain controls won't alter what you're already happy with and only add to it
Then once you've got what you're after, use the Lock icon to freeze that bar and move onto the next area needing attention.
When you get everything how you like it, then use the Song Dropdown>Global Actions>Lock All Parts. |

Ah yes....perfect! I was somewhat headed that way, after going through the manual again.
I did do something that seems similar:
I create a part, lock it, and save it. When I copy it back in, the new
copy seems to default as locked...just as I saved it. Same effect, I
think, but the way you suggest could be quicker in many situations. |
