|
|
I use Jamstix with Reaper. I am building a new DAW PC.
I have some old Reaper projects that use Jamstix3, but I don't really want to go through the hassle of installing both Jamstix3 and Jamstix4 on the new PC if I don't need to.
On a whim, I edited the Reaper RPP file for one of the old Jamstix3 projects, and replaced the text "jamstix3.dll" with "jamstix4.dll". (I have seen other people on the Reaper forum suggest this as a way to migrate a project from Kontakt5 to Kontakt6).
Everything seemed to work correctly. The project loaded, and (voila!) there was Jamstix4. And it played the same drum part that Jamstix3 would have played!
Is there any risk to installing only Jamstix4 on the new PC, and converting old Jamstix3 projects with this method if I ever need to open one of them? |

Wow! Fantastic. This will make it much easier to set up the new DAW PC without having to install old versions of plugins that aren't really needed.
I appreciate the fast response!
And I have to say that Jamstix4 keeps getting more amazing with each new release. |
