Current song looping functionality is rudimentary and, dare i say, counter-productive - if you have an ending part in your song, the song will pause before resuming from the loop starting point; if you don't have an ending, the song will end abruptly, should you choose to not loop it. Also, turning off song looping after the first loop simply ends the song abruptly as well.
If i'm jamming live, i want Jamstix to go to the starting point before it reaches the ending, but using live looping functionality for this is not ideal because i could simply forget to do it in the right moment. Similarly, i would like to be able to set Jamstix to not loop after this entire song repetition ends, so that i can turn it off somewhere in the middle of the song and not worry that i'll have to catch the repetition moment.
The easiest way to accomplish this would be to add loop start/loop end markers to the song list, and also add a "loop song" automation parameter that will not end the song abruptly but will instead simply play it past the end, and then stop. In other words, do it similarly to how DAWs do it with a loop region and a loop button! |
