Did a fresh install of JS4 today on a win10/64 computer with Reaper using install manager.

It appears that the 64 bit dll was not installed at all. Tried to run a repair, but with no luck.

As a last attempt I chose the 32 bit, and that installed properly in the vst folder and was recognized and loaded by Reaper.

Anybody out there with the same experience?

Hi,

No I've never had that problem installing the 64 bit version. Did you try doing a search for jamstix4.dll to see if maybe it got installed in a different folder? You might want to try running the Manager with administrator privileges once just to see if it is a permissions issue.

Fallback: manually copy the jamstix4.dll from c:\ProgramData\Jamstix4\bin\64 to the desired plugin search folder.

Just encountered this myself. The installer does not seem to actually copy the .dll file to the folder I specified. Of course I can copy it myself but just thought you might want to know so you can take a look when you get a chance.
A little more info...
Originally, I installed the JS4 Data to C:\\ProgramData\Jamstix 4 and it didn't seem to be copying the .dll files anywhere. Then I changed the installed folder to C:\\Jamstix 4 (as suggested by the installer) and it DID copy the files but it missed by one folder higher up. For example, I selected ….VSTPlugins\Jamstix4\ as the folder and it put them in the ...VSTPlugins\ folder.
Lastly, I have to admit, I really want to install the data to a C:\\Program Files\Jamstix 4\ folder but the installer specifically prohibits the Program Files folder. I suppose this may be due to the permissions problems with the program files folder.

Hi j_l,

That should be C:\ProgramData\Jamstix 4 not C:\\ProgramData\Jamstix 4. Disregard if that's a typo.

Yes that’s a typo. I actually used the file browser to select the folder. I just got confused typing the post with the double slash like a http:\\.

Jas_Lan, did you get the elevation prompt to continue as admin during the installation?

I've just sent you an email to test a fix for this.
Thank you!

Jamstix manager 1.1.9 is now out and should fix the 64-bit DLL issue. Let me know if it doesn't work.
