|
|
I'm having trouble adding Jamcussion to an existing Jamstix 4 song, not sure if it's user error, or a bug?
Basically use the Build tab to build a Jamstix 4 song, which defaults to having "No Jamcussion" ticked (mentioning in case this is relevant)
I then later decide I want to add Jamcussion to this song, so on the Perc tab I add a Jamcussion kit, load a style, and a drummer. I get a 3d Jamcussion kit, I can click the gui, and hear the sounds. I let the song play, and on the Groove tab, in the Perc setting, I can see a created Jamcussion pattern. If I stop playback, and mouse over the various hits, I can hear the sound of each Jamcussion instrument.
If I click "Drums", I can see the original Jamstix 4 pattern, which is different, mouse over the various hits, and can hear the usual snare, kicks, hihats etc. So it all looks like it works, it's got two different patterns, a Jamstix one, and a Jamcussion one.
Problem is, the Jamcussion one doesn't generate audio, when I playback the song. I've checked the mixer, and checked Jamcussion is mapped to Out7, i can mute the others, and still hear the Jamcussion kit pieces if I mouse over the gui elements in the Perc Kit or Groove tabs. But no Jamcussion sound comes out, if I play the song ...
What am i doing wrong? Is this a bug? |

If I create a new project, in my daw, add Jamstix, and untick the "No Jamcussion" tick box in the Build tab, and create a new song, I can hear Jamstix.
My gut feeling / guess is that using the Build tool to create the other song, with "No Jamcussion" ticked, has muted Jamcussion for me, in that song, and I can't find a way to unmute it. But I could be totally wrong. |

| DAW is Tracktion's Waveform 9, by the way. But I don't think it's relevant. |

| My focussing on the "No Jamcussion" on the build tab being an issue, is that I can untick it, leave the Build tab, then go back to that tab, and it's still ticked. I don't think it's possible to untick it properly, if you Build a song with it ticked ... I think that's a bug |

Can you Shift Click on the Jamcussion tab please. This mutes and unmutes the entire Jamcussion unit. Maybe that all it is. _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Absolute 3 VST. 418 Carrier Landings.

1) Shift+Click the "PERC" label in the main window to make sure Jamcussion is not muted.
2) While in the "PERC" side of Jamstix, load a style, player & Jamcussion kit.
If "FULL" is enabled that should be all that is needed. |

Excellent, thanks guys. It was the Shift + Click Perc thing, to unmute Jamcussion, that sorted it out. I didn't know that was a thing. The Perc tab lit up brighter, and Jamcussion now makes sounds, on playback.
Interesting that the sounds of the Jamcussion kit still sound, if you click them in the 3D gui, and mouse over the "hits" on the groove tab, when it's muted. I think it was that which was making me think the kit wasn't "muted" in some way or another. |
