|
|
Trying to use Liveloop with a Korg nanoKontrol - I have assigned buttons to tx a note and note number and have assigned the note number to trigger loops with LiveLooping toggled.
JS is "seeing" the midi data coming in (yellow light flashing) however it is not having any effect.
I did note that when setting the trigger by pressing the button on the nanoK, JS showed it as being an octave up..eg I have a button set to C#0 when I press it to link JS shows it as C#1 - perhaps this is the issue?
I am assuming that if I change the nanoK to C#1 - JS will then show it as C#2....so there is some octave reading issue between the two I think. If so how could I fix this?
I also tried "manually" setting the trigger key in JS to C#0 (and ditto for subsequent notes) however it still has no effect on advancing the loop to the next part.
Any help appreciated!!!

I thought I had a similar problem but made a discovery.
MIDI note names are not standardized. What one controller or DAW calls C1 might be C-1 in another.
For example, Jamstix's "C1" is called "C-1" in Ableton Live. (I.e. always subtract 2 octaves to convert between Jamstix and Ableton note numbers.) |

| Under Options>User interface & 3d kit, enable "Use Yamaha pitch convention for note values". See if that fixes it. |

I've tried switching "Use Yamaha pitch convention for note values" on and off. And now JS no longer responds to MIDI notes in liveloop mode. I had it working by subtracting 2 in Ableton Live, but now (with Yamaha notes off) it just plays through the song and seems to ignore MIDI input. It even mysteriously plays silent measures on some play-throughs, or MIDI trigger notes change the sound of the kit but not the part.
I'm also getting a lot of UI errors, but I suppose that's for another thread. |

The logs you've sent me don't show errors. Please replicate the problem and make sure 'Log Mode' in the Options is set to 'Normal'.
