|
|
It would be kewl if the forum had an area for rythm sharing and development, especially for arranged songs.
For instance, how should you configure a cha cha? (don't laugh, Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones, and most of Keith Richards songs tend to be Cha Cha beat)
Or how to get the 3 over 4 triplets sound on the snare drum?
What about how to recreate the toms on the Cream song NSU?
Since I am not a drummer, and my technical understanding of drum timing is poor, it would really be nice to have a place to request and find specific drum beats. |

I agree with you. We do hope to have an online database at some point where rhythm files and arrangements can be shared but this is a bit off in the future. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi everybody
Well I'm a new user and first of all I would like to congratulate Ralph for this fantastic work. Waiting for Jambace, also
One reason of the success of Guitar Pro (if someone knows what I'm talking about http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php) has been the ability to share tablatures between thousands of musicians, and then: to become a standard for many guitarists.
Jamstix has an amazing drum engine. Rythms diversity would certainly develop its spreading all over the World, for all musicians like me. Not a dream, I'm sure.
As a new Jamstix user, I would be glad to have the possibility to share rythms in such a database.
Anyway, does somebody know where I can find tips to create latin rythms like Sambas and Bossa Novas. The internal database is a little poor with those rythm patches but I know Jamstix would be perfectly suitable for that.

Ooops I haven't caught your post of last Nov. the 1st, Ralph (http://rayzoon.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=777). Sorry for that.
Then I'm waiting for Jamstix 2, am I right ?

Yes, you are waiting for JS2 as far as the integrated online browser is concerned.
But nothing keeps all of us from sharing RRF files now. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok thanks.
Anyway as I see "latin" and "latinize" into the software, I get back to my first questions.
I would like to create a basic bossa rythm, which is declined in a 2 x 4/4 pattern, I think. Is there a possibility to do that or must I use the "Arrangement section".
Also as I'm not a professional drummer: Does it exist some rules to create a good samba rythm ? Does someone know web links related to that purpose ? |

If the rhythm uses 2 bars then you need to alternate between two rhythms in the arranger.
I've made a quick example of a 2-bar bossa rhythm:

Just load this into Jamstix via the 'Load Bank' function of your host. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks Ralph
I think I've understood now. Will try to make some patterns by myself.
