Hi
Just saw a silly deal for Mixbus 4 and thought I would give it a try..
Interesting. It does not see Jamstix as a virtual instrument, so you can't automatically configure the channels. It does see Kontakt and some others. Any idea why?

It does see Jamstix as a plugin with 16 outs and I got it to work by using the pin connector routing in Mixbus. If you have the Jamstix mixer in downmix you can route it as one stereo pair.
I am now going to experiment with the 16 outs and see how that works.

From my quick experiment the Mixbus 4 channel EQ and tape saturation on the busses works very well.
Even tried turning of all EQ and compression in Jamstix 4 and just using the channel EQ and compression in Mixbus. They work very well, drums sound really good.

Anyone else tried this console DAW and got any tips?

Update:
You can route each audio out of Jamstix, 4 to an individual channel in Mixbus 4 by creating 8 stereo audio channels . Make sure these channels are set to (IN) at the top of the strip and that the record monitoring lightis on at the top of each Mixbus channel

On the Jamstix midi track right click to find the pin connection dialogue. You should see 16 Jamstix audio connections represented
Use manual configuration and add 16 audio outs and link by dragging a line from the Jamstix connector to the Mixbus audio connectors you just created (a virtual cable let's you see what you are connecting) and match them up.

Using the midi routing screen select which audio channel receives which drums midi information and you are good to go.
It is easiest to access the midi routing screen from the edit (track list view) window of Mixbus. Right clicking on the midi track, , will allow you to choose the routing screen, where you can choose the audio tracks tab and the midi out routing going to them. Select by clicking in the box till a green circle appears. Those midi outs will now play the audio on each mixer track of Mixbus, depending what audio output preference, you have chosen for Jamstix output (remember to disable downmix in the mixer screening you want individual outs in Mixbus

All Mixbus strip controls, including input gain adjustment, will work on the incoming audio from Jamstix.

Hope that helps anyone who might want to give Mixbus a try...

You can use 16 mono channels in Mixbus if you wanted to, that gives to two channels for each of Jamistix's 8 stereo audio outs.. For example, the snare will come through on mixer chanells 3&4. This allows you to make a very wide snare sound, by panning these tracks wide left and right or using compression on one share channel and none on the other etc. Some interesting effects can be had by doing this..
