This will be an easy one for someone, I'm sure. How do I go about building my own kit from all of the samples that I have(I own all of the packs)?
I'm not neccesarily wanting to build my own kit right now, the included mapping are just fine. What I am interested in doing is changing the cymbals if possible. I don't really like the sound of chinas or splashes so much, and would like to replace them with different larger crashes, if possible.
I have read the manual a dozen times, and I know that the info is in there, everytime I learn and understand something new, I go back and say, it's been there all along, but it just seems easier when someone else explains it to me.
If someone could give me a step by step approach to this, I'd be really happy! _________________ T-bonesplace.com |

Load up Jamstix, and go to the Mapping tab.
To change the sound of a crash cymbal (for example), select [Crash A] from the Sounds drop down list. In my set up, the Sample drop down list towards the bottom shows that the [Crash - 16" HHX] sample is selected to play as [Crash A].
If you wish you can select a different sample (e.g. [Crash - 18" DP1]). Check what it sounds like by clicking on the Audit button. While you are in this screen you can change other settings for [Crash A] such as Volume, Pan, Pitch, and Ambience.
Now you can either select another kit piece to change, or save your changes to a mapping file by clicking on the [Save] button and giving the mapping a name.
Hope that helps!
