Thanks Ralph! Not fussed about the 3D virtual kit, but the rest looks great. Looking forward to a simplified workflow.
And happy new year! |

I love the functional improvement that many more parameters are directly controllable from the bar grid ticks, big time saver!
To me, the bugs in the current GUI are a major turnoff. One of many examples is in the rename part dialogue, where the space keys and backspace keys are almost completely dysfunctional, the enter key works intermittently only, etc.
Additionally, even when there aren't bugs, many workflows seem convoluted, for example when editing parts. There are lots of posts with other examples.
I really really hope those things will be fixed in js4!
FR: please make the drum kit visualization style be a user preference. I much prefer the "classic" non-3D look.
Thank you! _________________ Alexis

Great to see this announcement, Ralph! Congrats on getting to this stage in development.
The new features you outlined look very useful. I was just going to list a few of the things that I am really looking forward to making use of, but I'd be repeating most of your announcement. Suffice to say, it looks like you have made some really great decisions for enhancing the workflow.
Here is my biggie though, and sorry that it is in your announcement thread, but I just can't help myself. Is the style preview fixed for JS4? I would be very happy to spend time testing or troubleshooting this issue with you if it helps. |

There will be a public Beta at some point so you can verify if it is fixed for you. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I would like to be one of the testers for this if I could. I use JamStix with Ableton, especially the LiveLoop functionality. I would be happy to use the new beta software and report back with any bug reports. I can get the 3 version to work and it's really great!, but I would consider it to be time well spent to help the final release version of JamStix4 be rock solid in the areas where I use it.
I don't see a label for it, but live loop will still be a part of JamStix right? |

It's the arrow circle to the right of the bar/beat counter. I'll add your name to the list of potential testers for LiveLoop. Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Great news!!!!! I like the new gui/look, but that's not really important to me...What I'm happy about is the spreadsheet editor so changing midi notes will be easier/quicker. I've always had problems getting JS to save the kit mapping on my pc for some reason (I use Reaper, & always record the midi output on a seperate track, then change the notes in the daw itself), so this is quite a big deal for me, as I use a lot of different drum vsti's mixed in what I call my "Franken-Kit"...
The new styles & drummers also sound great...
Congrats, & I can't wait to try it out myself!!!! |
