Please let us know how you first heard of Jamstix so we can consider this as we plan future marketing efforts.
Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I heard about Jamstix through a recommendation at Cubase.net
and was immediately addicted... |

I'm pretty sure it was KVR for me (discussion rather than an ad)
Since then I know I've 'sold' 2 copies and know another 2 folk have the demo intend to purchase - and each of them is a real convert. It seems once someone gets in to Jamstix and gets to grips with how powerful and flexible it is they become retained salesmen |

Thanks, Timmyo
We did notice how some people load the demo, hit 'Free Jam' and 'Play' and immediately judge JS by the results without digging any deeper.
The whole manual/arranger aspect of JS is sometimes short-changed but there's only so much info people can digest at a glance... _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I heard about it on the n-Track forum.
I think it was Sekim who posted a link to it when it was first released.
Have loved it ever since!!!
A lot of n-Track users are one man shows recording at home and Jamstix is just the type of thing that would suit a lot of users. |

Yeah - imho there are definately 2 very different markets out there : the Jammers who you clearly aim at, and those who want an intelligent arranger and who don't give a hoot about the Jamming side. To keep the message effective I suppose it's about identifying the largest user segment, or employng 2 different marketing approaches |

Pretty sure it was in either the Cubase or Nuendo forum.

i actually found it at KvR, but i was searching for a more flexible alternative to groove agent at the time, basically i searched the database and jamstix came up. The problem i had with groove agent was that it basically locks you into specific rhythms. despite there being a fairly wide range of them, it was still too limiting for me. I suppose you can record it to a midi track and edit there, but that's just too much finicky work imo. The way i use jamstix is always through the arranger, and i construct each pattern myself from ground up. i've never really used the rhythm database or even saved my own rhythms as i tend to create the drum part to the exact pattern i want. for this purpose it's extremely effective and simple to use and basically exactly what i was originally looking for. in fact i would say it is without a doubt the best vsti i've ever had the pleasure of using.
I agree with timmyo about the marketing stance, as i use it exclusively as an intelligent arranger. i did try the jamming mode, but i really like to have lots of control so i always just automate the velocity and everything to what i need. I really think that this side of the program could get more of a mention. i guess its the jam modes that carry the greatest innovation value but there are many people out there who just want a good programmable drum machine that sounds natural who just might overlook jamstix without recognising that it actually does work extremely well to this capacity. |

Cubase forum--->KVR forum--->google search--->bought the jamboree! It is the most innovative and creative tool of the past few years IMO. I look forward to put my hands on jam-bass. And the snare pack. And the drum and bass packs #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,... even though I find myself using mostly C&V as sounds...BTW can you make a 'quiet' character for ballad style songs? (mostly rims, closed HH, switching from half tempo to normal at some velocity...) _________________ AMDx2 4600+-K8Npro-3Gb Ram-Fierface-BCF2000-Win XP pro sp2-Cubase SX3.1.1.944
