Hi,

today I tried to use jamstix in a new environment called "freestyle" where you could put racks together and use it in any daw you like. Midi, Instruments, effects, bridged stuff, great.

So after doing some other templates like guitar, bass, pads......I tried to make something for a drum today and of course started with jamstix Cool .

Now the problem: to test I have an external composition app (sundog) that sents midi over loopmidi to freestyle. For the test a simple basedrum and a snare both on channel 10. In freestyle I just connect the midi in to the midi in of the vst (midi, instrument, effect, whatever you like). So I connect it to jamstix, load a prepared song, choose "midi jam" but nothing happens. I can see the midi in led lighted, but song in jamstix just did not react to the midi in and wont "start" (stays on bar one, nothing happens).

For a test if evrything is working right I loaded parallel good old Steinberg SI drums and that worked with no problem, bass, snare, evrything there.

Any ideas about that ?

EDIT: when I turn all jam modes off jamstix plays the incoming midi, that works, but I want it to jam with the incoming notes so that, as idea, I could make a rack with different drums in parallel, one playing the original notes and jamstix just jamming and making a different beat to it (someone remember the good old days of southern rock Smile))

Kind regards,

Richard

MIDI jam is for working with melodic instruments that capture the dynamic range/state of the song, i.e. piano. Otherwise, I'd keep JS in normal jam mode.

If the song power does not react to the MIDI, increase the MIDI trim in the jamming options until the knob reacts properly.
