So...cubase 9 is out and Jamstix is blacklisted and very close to retirement.
An update would be nice. Last minor update was more than a year ago....and jamstix-4 seems like never gonna happen.
Any suggestions?...or just force load JS3 and hope for the best? |

I'm in the middle of getting Cubase 9. Ralph, what does it take to unblacklist? Steinberg said it's been in communication with blacklisted companies and offered suggestions for how to get on the white list - is that true?
Thanks - _________________ Alexis

Having downloaded Cubase 9, I can report that it is not blacklisted on my system, and that the user interface opens up when the VSTi is selected. I have not had a chance to use it yet, so can't report on that. _________________ Alexis

Firstly,
I noticed Cubase 9 no longer supports 32 bit vsts, at least that is my understanding. I experienced a lot of blacklisted 32 bit vst versions yet their 64 bit versions ran fine.
As for the cannot open core event, saw someone having a similar experience with Fruity Loops, they updated to version 3.6 and this seemed to have fixed their problems, Just a thought, hopefully an update or reload will help.
I have not purchased jamstix yet, and have asked sales if there is to be a Christmas sale, as yet I have not had a response.
All the best |

jimgue_77,
Is Jamstix Audio Plugin Server listed as running in "Background Processes" in Task Manager? |

No, it's not.
I checked that and also ran Cubase 9 in administrator mode and it still had same error. I sent log to Ralph so hopefully he'll figure something out. |

Jamstix 3 is working perfectly here on Cubase 9 and Windows 10, wasn't blacklisted, I did not have to do anything to get it to work, and I don't run Cubase with Administrator rights .... just as a normal user.
Everything is 64-bit only though. |

Try running Jamstix.exe manually first, located in C:\jamstix3\bin\64 as an administrator and then see if Jamstix will run properly. |

So I went to that folder and there was no Jamstix.exe file. There was this file in the bin\32 folder, so I copied it into the bin\64 folder and did what you said and now it works.
I don't know why and don't know how you figured it out, but you have given me a workaround, thanks! Hope there is a fix for me so I don't have to do that every time though!
Thanks a_zimuth! |

| The "cannot open core event" is always caused by the plugin server not running I have found. Ralph would have to explain the technical aspects of what actually is going on there but I can speak from experience. |

jimgue_77,
When you installed Jamstix did you choose to install the 64bit vst? If you chose to only install the 32bit vst, that is probably why it was in the \bin\32 folder and not \bin\64. |

It's been so long ago, I cannot remember, but thought I had. It seems to be working after I copied the exe file into the bin\64 folder. I sent Ralph the updated log file with it working for him to check out.
Thanks so much for your help on this! |
