|
|
Hi - I'm just getting into JS automation, so please forgive the ignorance, thanks!
I noticed that when I assign automation (Cubase 7.5.40) the assignment only is effective for the part it was created in. So, if I've automated a control in the intro, as soon as the song goes to the verse, the automation is no longer active, and I have to repeat the assignment.
I was wondering - is there any way to have the automation >> cc assignment stick throughout the entire song?
Thanks! _________________ Alexis

It's tricky because the controls available for automation may not be present in all parts if the style/drummer is changed. You can try load/save buttons in the MIDI CC dialog to speed up replication in other parts. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK, thanks Ralph, that makes sense.
I also came across (manual page 32):
| Quote: | Control Only Current Part
If checked, MIDI controllers received will only be sent to the current part; otherwise all parts
will receive them |
I read it as maybe saying that if left unchecked all parts in the song will receive the MIDI controller data (if checked, just the current part works with the MIDI controller assignment).
Is that the correct interpretation of that control ... would leaving it unchecked apply my MIDI controller assignment throughout the song (assuming, as you say, the control is available for each drummer/style throughout the song)?
Thanks - _________________ Alexis

No, the option just applies to what parts get MIDI control data from the host.
It does not affect mapping for each part. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks, Ralph, of course that's what I'm seeing now.
