Cubase 7.5.20, i5 W7.
If I only have one out activated, Cubase and Jamstix are in sync. I do have the lock on for syncing with the host time position.
The moment I activate a second output, Jamstix jumps ahead one beat (not 1 bar), and displays consistently 1 beat ahead of the Cubase Metronome on the Jamstix beat counter.
This is reversible, if I go back to only 1 JS output, it stays together with Cubase. Also, when I stop Cubase, they go back in sync, and when I start Cubase up again, JS instantly adds an extra beat in its counter.
This is also reflected visually in the bar display.
It's just a visual thing - the actual drum hits are in sync with Cubase.
That is with an instrument track - it is worse with an instrument rack - then even with 1 output in JS chosen, it is ahead of Cubase by 1 beat.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks! _________________ Alexis

What happens if you load Jamstix, activate all outputs and then start Cubase? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thank you for your reply!
Uggh, I feel so ignorant sometimes ... I've only ever started JS from within Cubase. How do I load JS without Cubase being started?
Thank you again! _________________ Alexis

Sorry about being unclear. I didn't mean to start Jamstix outside of Cubase. I meant starting a new Cubase project, loading Jamstix, activating all JS outputs in Cubase and then starting play. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Empty project works great.
The project I wrote about has a time sig change - one beat of 2/4, the rest 4/4. I do have that box checked off to enable. And the change is near the very end of the project, though I can make the dyssynchrony occur at any point in the project timeline.
Worth sending you a log? If so, please let me know what email, or format (which log also!) -
Thanks - _________________ Alexis

Please do a "Save Song" in JS in your project and email me the file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi Ralph - sending as per your request ... thank you for any help! (This is a new project BTW, distinct from the one that I first posted about.)
As I hope is visible from what I sent you, the Jamstix always reads one beat "later" than Cubase - so if Cubase reads the start of measure 60, Jamstix will read that it is on the 2nd quarter note of measure 60.
I can fix it by telling Jamstix to zero at measure 0 beats/1st quarter note using the "Assume Current Position as Zero Offset" in the "Host Synchronization" dialog ... but then when I record a Jamstix track, it places the hits one beat late.
I've also manipulated each of the "Bar Offset (Actual)" and "Bar Offset (Visual)" by both (+)1 beats and (-)1 beats ... they don't actually function in any way at all that I can detect though (?).
Thanks for any help, Ralph or anyone!
Thanks for offering to take a look at this! _________________ Alexis

Hi- checking in a few days later ... would anyone have any thoughts on how I can fix this?
Thanks in advance!
PS: Ralph, please let me know if you need me to resend that song file by email, thx. _________________ Alexis

I've been looking into this but without success in replicating so far. It's interesting that these issues happen mainly with Cubase but I know that won't help you at all. Are you using a count-in in Cubase? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thank you Ralph!
No count in. I wonder if it is a similar problem to this http://rayzoon2.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=43181#43181 ? When I export to MIDI it is exactly on beat, but when following the JS clock/metronome, or in the bar editor, it is off.
And I realize now it is not off by a beat ... It's almost a beat, but not exactly.
I wonder if in JS4 it would work to put a "Host PDC Compensator Button" for its metronome to cue off of, or better yet, a dial? Because it is just a visual thing, the adjustment doesn't have to be perfect, just close enough so any inexactness is not distracting. _________________ Alexis
