I notice that in the HiHat panel you can select Open, Foot and Semi on the off (+) beats, but not Closed. There is a particular rhythm I'm trying to create,

(my server doesn't seem to want to play this rhythm without stuttering - but you get the idea)
with HiHat beats only on the off beat, and I can do it using Foot or Semi, but would like to use Closed if possible.
Is there a way to do this?

That´s as close as I can get:
In the hihat panel mark "Eights" and pull the "Eights" Slider way right.
Leave the "1, 2, 3, 4," and the "+"- fileds on "silent".
Now you have closed hihats on off beat |

The Eighths box gives you closed events for the + beats.
In your case you only want 1+ and 3+ and that's the problem. We'll see what we can do about this in a JS 1 update...
Foot should be a good work-around but you can also assign the sound of the closed hats to the semi-hats and then use the semi events in the + column. Of course this assumes that you won't need semi hats anywhere else in this particular song. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I noticed the same issue. I am not a drummer, and using Jamstix is forcing me to think like one. Is this setup because real drummers don't play in this manner? |

It's just a less common way to play. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Latest beta X6-8 adds 'Closed' event to the Hihat + column so these beats can now be programmed. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
