Delete all the notes, but they still play?

I found at least one or two menus to get rid of a bar's notes, and iirc, even a whole part's notes. When I was done, the bars were completely empty (groove, accent, fill), but the old notes kept playing. This wasn't a random hit here and there - it was a whole limb I had created - it wouldn't shut up!

The problem was immediately preceded by difficulty in deleting single notes from the bar editor. They wouldn't take a white border with clicking unless I first created and deleted a note in the adjacent tick box. Only then could they be clicked and deleted, and as I mentioned at the top, they weren't actually deleted.

Renaming, closing down JS, closing down Cubase, rebooting the computer (W7, i5, 16th GB RAM), nothing helped. Had to recreate the song from scratch in the end.

Anyone see anything like this? If/when it happens again, any other suggestions?

Did you try 'Reset Song' in the song menu?

Yes, thanks.

The problem started with the inability to delete single hits without first finding an empty tick and creating/deleting a dummy hit there. Only then would JS let me delete the hit I wanted to.

If no one has ever seen that problem before, I guess it just wasn't my lucky day.
