Hello,
I have created some drum bars with Jamstix Standard Dry kit. I want to record midi from Jamstix that can playback an SSD4 kit.
I don’t want to alter midi notes of the Jamstix kits, and I don’t want to alter the midi notes of the SSD4 kits, so I’m guessing I would use a “key mapping” that would covert the midi recorded out of Jamstix into midi that corresponds to the SSD4 kit – Is this correct?
If so, how do you do this?
I notice that Jamstix came with two SSD4 “j2k files” and one SSD4 “kmap” file, but I don’t know how or when to load these.
Ideally I would like to be able to compose bars in JS and then record them to midi that can be played back by SSD4, but I would like to be able to go back and forth between the two so I can listen to each version (Jamstix and SSD4) as I compose.
I'm using Sonar
Thank You very much for any help |

I gave up on this, but did find a way to get where I need to be by:
-use Jamstix in midi-only mode
-use a custom Jamstix Kit, and a custom Jamstx kmap file, with a custom SSD4 kit. I had to create the kits myself in order to make the midi from Jamstix line up with the sounds in SSD4. With only a few edits I was able to make these kits from the SSD4 files that came with Jamstix.
Thank You |
