This post covers 3 items, the first item is the one I really would like to have an answer to if anyone knows. The other 2 are bug reports.

When I right click on the power hand New Sound drop down box, I am able to assign a midi controller to this item, but when I automate the values of the control in Ableton nothing happens. I know that my setup is working because I can add the same control to the Min Power slider and watch it slide back and forth automatically. Is there a trick to doing automation for "New Sound"?
Also, a much smaller issue but something that's going to become more cumbersome as I work on this more - when I am using LIVELOOP mode, and make changes to the song structure it seems like the old settings are being displayed temporarily - I get flickering of settings in the SONG tab. I know that the old settings are showing up temporarily because I changed the song Style, and clicked the Player dropdown randomly during a flicker event and the Player was populated with the selections from the old style.
And last but not least, if I set the BARS or REPS for the parts of the song to ridiculous numbers (like 1000 bars each) JamStix runs out of memory, which is fine, but I am unable to restart JamStix unless I kill the background task in the process manager. If there is already something to detect "out of memory", why not make it something that causes the software to exit gracefully? Or have the bars / reps revert to the old value? |
