After a couple of years not using JamStix, I've just installed JamStix 3.6.1 32 bit. I'm using Reaper 4.75 32 bit, and Win 8 64 bit. Install seemed OK.

I then installed jamstix2_stock_kit and jamstix3_stock_kit and can't get any sound at all. In the KIT tab it says "41 sounds missing", which seems related.

In scouring the forum I've seen references to the "rzdlog.txt" file, but can't find a trace of it anywhere (apart from a couple that are a few years old). Where should it be in Win 8?

What should I do about the missing sounds?

Funny, I received an email a few hours ago telling me there was a reply to this.
When I click on the link provided I get a message saying "The topic or post you requested does not exist".

Has there indeed been a reply which has been accidentally deleted?

BTW I've made no further progress since my first post, so unfortunately I'm in the frustrating position of being unable to make any use of JamStix.

Basically, this means that you haven't installed the .pak file (the sounds) for the kit you have selected. That is one quirky thing about Jamstix, is that it will list kits that use sounds you haven't purchased or installed. In fact, some kits even use sounds from multiple paks. Have you tried selecting some other kits? The name of the kit usually has some letters that identify the paks that the sounds come from, such as, 1,2,3, MP (Metal Pack), BP (Bonzo Pack), XL, AI, etc.

Thanks lan. I thought I had properly installed the .pak files, but obviously hadn't as you suggested. As a result of your reply I repeated that procedure. I'm not sure what I did wrong the first time, but this time it worked.
