I'm trying to set up snare syncopation in Jamstix to vary the hits around 2 and 4 but without double hits. This is for when the drum part should be slightly hip without obscuring the other tracks.
I've tried the Freestyle control set (busy-funk-power-amount), but it produces variations all over the bar. I've also tried the snare mode box in conjunction with that, using the back-beat preset and then lowering it's priority, but it always overrides the busy-funk settings. Simplifier doesn't sort things out either.
The Jamstix classic control set can place syncopated hits around 2 and 4, but it often produces double hits, for example, 2 followed by the & of 2.
Maybe I'm missing something obvious here to control backbeat syncopation and have it vary each measure. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |
