|
|
Recently forced to upgrade to Windows 7 and Cubase ARTIST. Needing to revisit earlier work done on XP/sp3 and Cubase SE3, I loaded JS3 on an old PC (already contained SE3 and JS2) and loaded all sound packs.
I restored the Cubase projects(audio and .cpr files) from backups onto XP machine. When I open JS3 the song data is gone!!! No drum kits, or song data.
Where is the song data stored?
BTW the JS2 stuff works. |

There was a problem like this with one of the betas but it was fixed. Are you using the latest version?
Could also be a file permissions issue. I think you have to give file permission to your Jamstix folder.
Thread in here somewhere with the details... _________________ Core i7 4712QM, 16GB, Cubase 9 Pro on Windows 10. Scarlett 2i2. M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. Komplete 8. Jamstix 3.6. Absolute 3 VST. 418 Carrier Landings.

Latest versions, yes. Would I not get "file access msg" if it were permissions? BTW JS2 runs fine.
I have never understood where song data is stored. |

Sounds like a version mismatch. Which version of JS3 were the songs created with and which version is now on the XP machine?
Data is stored in CPR file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Checked my backups but don't have previous releases. Any way I can get a previous level of JS3? Just checked site and only see latest versions. If this i the case probably earliest level of 3 would be it...
Thanx |

At this point I think it's a CUBASE ARTIST issue. Seems Artist can't find JS3 data if created using CUBASE SE3.
Thanks |

Sorry about that! Cubase is very picky about internal plugin version numbers when deciding whether to send the song data to a plugin.
For complex Jamstix arrangements, it is a good idea to hit the disk icon in the bar editor often to save revisions that can be loaded via 'Load Song' for recovery. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
