Hi, I need help using Jamstix running my external Dr-880 drum machine through Tracktion 2. When I do all the appropriate settings Tracktion plays the 880 but i don't hear jamstix playing through it, it plays the 880's patterns instead. I like the 880's sounds and I would like to incorporate it in my setup. Plus I want to be able to use it for Jambace when it comes out since it has bass sounds too. Any ideas? Thanks, Tim

I'll list the steps I would take if it were me, using Cubase, and my Boss DR-550. You'll have to do the translation to you, using Tracktion, and the 880.

1. add Jamstix to a track
2. add a new midi track and set Jamstix as its input
3. set that midi track to have an output of Midisport 2x2 Channel A (my external midi interface)
4. connect 550 to Midisport
5. look at midi mapping in my 550 for kick drum and see what midi note number it is set to
6. on JS mapping tab select Kick in the dropdown and set its midi note to be the same as that on the 550
7. repeat steps five and six for each drum I want to use
8. press play when I will now hear both Jamstix and the 550 playing drums at the same time
