First of all, please forgive me if I have missed something here. I have been searching the forum for a while and I can't find anything much Logic 9 related.
I have downloaded the Jamstix 3 demo to try out, as I have been looking at it for a while now, and been very tempted. Now it's reduced in the sale, I am very keen to have it, but I thought I should ensure compatibility with my system to start with. Unfortunately I am having real problems getting started with it.
I load a fresh software instrument track, load up jamstix into that track and straight away my CPU meter goes into the red and stays there. If I attempt playback of the track at that point, it will be full of crackles (not the imposed hiss of the demo version), controls become unresponsive, and after a short while I will get an error message, saying it is having trouble syncing audio and midi.
Now I am a noob to this kind of instrument (I only ever used preset synths etc. that came with LE9, nothing third party apart from effect plugins), so again I am sorry if I'm being daft here , but I prefer the look of jamstix over everything else for what I am trying to do here, and if you can help me get it working I'll be over the moon.
I have already tried running LE9 in both 32bit and 64bit modes, and have loaded jamstix into an empty project, as well as an existing one. One poster on another forum suggested that the audio/midi sync issue could be to do with my interface, but I have checked its clock source is internal, and run the scenario using just the on-board in/out of the computer, and it plays out exactly the same way.
My system is Mac Mini 2.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, with OSX 10.10.1 and all apps running from a Samsung EVO 840 SSD. |
